What is Fraxel®?

How does Fraxel® work?
Fraxel® is designed to treat aging and damaged skin
by targeting specific areas of damaged tissue. The laser
creates microscopic "wounds" within these
areas, well beneath the outer most layer of the skin.
Fraxel® laser treatments trigger the body's natural
process accelerating the production of collagen and
new, healthy skin cells.
What is the Fraxel® procedure?
Your skin is first cleansed and a topical anesthetic
ointment is applied to the treatment area approximately
30-60 minutes prior to the treatment. The Fraxel®
laser handpiece precisely reads the discreet contours
of the treatment area. Most patients describe the treatment
as a "prickling" sensation. The topical anesthetic
ointment and localized air cooling alleviates most discomfort.
The procedure is approximately 30 minutes for a full
face. The skin is slightly red afterwards and makeup
can be applied immediately.
